Калманович: «Впервые идея Суперкубка была реализована в прошлом году. Но тогда это был как бы совмещенный матч - просто так получилось, что в первом же туре Евролиги «Спартак» принимал обладателя Кубка Европы – итальянский «Скио». И хотя идея с Суперкубком руководителям FIBA-Europe сразу понравилась, они не могли официально учредить новый турнир без соответствующего решения исполкома континентальной федерации баскетбола. Только в этом году Суперкубок наконец-то занял полноправное место в европейском календаре». «Галатасарай» очень хотел сыграть в Стамбуле. Но после того как я выступил с докладом на Совете FIBA-Europe и рассказал, как много значит этот матч для нашей команды, ее болельщиков и истории, президент турецкого клуба подошел и сказал: «Видишь эти листки бумаги?
