Как сообщил порталу Delfi соавтор и художник памятника музыканту на 35-ом км трассы Слока-Талси Руслан Верещагин, деньги на реставрацию были собраны среди поклонников Цоя и его творчества. По словам Верещагина, постамент памятника, который нуждался в ремонте, отремонтировали к очередной годовщине гибели Цоя. К годовщине гибели Виктора Цоя в Интернете также появилась страница http://www.35km.lv, на которой можно узнать всю информацию о памятнике, его создателях, о событиях, которые происходили на 35-ом км в разное время, а также посмотреть фотографии, на которых запечатлен процесс изготовления памятника и его реставрации.
